Ground penetrating radar Cairns services are proudly provided by the team at Digsafe NQ, who have the equipment and personnel to assist with projects large and small.
A recent project we worked on using ground penetrating radar on the Cairns Esplanade. Our mission was to locate any ground anomalies which might lead to minor ground landslides, impacting the sea wall or boardwalk.
For this project, Digsafe NQ used a Noggin Gold 250 SmartCard ground penetrating radar. This equipment can scan to a maximum depth of 100m and can provide integrated GPS point mark or continuous NMEA string logging.
The radar cart itself is quite compact (63 x 41 x 23cm) and weighs only 7.3kg, which means it is easily transported from the Digsafe NQ head office in Woree to any location around Cairns city and the North Queensland region.
On the Cairns Esplanade we surveyed ground landside of the sea wall and boardwalk, as noted with GPR, and provided positions of suspect ground anomalies. This project was completed on time and budget.
